Overview
SchoolJobsNearMe.org is a website designed to connect potential educators with job opportunities in schools across the United States. Created in collaboration with the Department of Education, this website was developed to help address the shortages of teachers and other critical staff that were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. In partnership with the Biden-Harris administration, SchoolJobsNearMe.org now serves as a valuable resource for professionals such as teachers, nurses, bus drivers, and librarians to find employment and support schools in their communities.
My Role
For this project, my role was to design the homepage and additional pages for the website, with a focus on creating a cohesive look and feel that aligned with the logo branding. I worked within a tight two week timeline to complete this task.

Goals
The goal of this project was to build a job board website that would enable job seekers to easily search and find employment opportunities in public schools across the United States. The website allows users to browse and filter job openings based on their desired role, location, compensation, grade level, and other factors. It also includes features such as job alerts and resources to assist job seekers in their search. Additionally, schools are able to post job openings and work with the website to find qualified candidates.
The Challenge
To achieve the project goals, we followed a set of steps to complete the website within the given two week timeline. Firstly, we developed a brand for the website, which included a name, logo, and brand colors that were representative of the Department of Education. Next, we built the website using web page templates from our partnership websites as a starting point. These templates allowed us to quickly create a functional website, while still allowing us to customize the visual design and user experience to align with the new branding. Our goal was to create a website that was easy to use, visually appealing, and inclusive to all school roles. By following these steps, we were able to successfully launch the website within the allotted timeframe.
Results
The launch of SchoolJobsNearMe.org was a great success, with the website receiving 18,000 page views within the first 24 hours. This initial traffic also resulted in 300 Apply Starts, 200 Job Alert Subscriptions, and 51 requests from schools and districts to include their job openings on the website. These metrics demonstrate the strong demand for a resource like SchoolJobsNearMe.org and the positive response from both job seekers and schools. We are proud of the impact that this website has had in connecting educators with job opportunities and supporting the education system during a difficult time.
