Bluebeam Extreme Conference

Overview

The annual Bluebeam conference, known as XCON, is a four-day event that offers product announcements, training sessions, and networking opportunities for customers in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. The conference aims to provide attendees with an immersive brand experience that showcases Bluebeam's products and passion for the AEC industry. In 2019, the conference was held in Washington D.C., and the visual branding incorporated elements of both the city's landmarks and the AEC industry. The branding for the conference sought to strike a balance between representing the unique character of D.C. and maintaining the consistency of the Bluebeam brand.
My Role
I served as the lead designer responsible for the creation and execution of the visual branding for all aspects of the conference. My responsibilities included designing environmental graphics, digital promotions, web elements, presentation materials, print collateral, and branded apparel. I also acted as a design liaison between our company and various print vendors and worked closely with the motion designer to create promotional videos and keynote visuals.

Goals
The goal of the project was to create a visually striking and innovative conference experience that broke away from traditional construction industry themes. The design team aimed to use a range of colors, typography, and imagery to bring the conference space to life, incorporating elements of D.C.'s historical landmarks and highlighting the importance of Bluebeam's customers. I sought to create a bold and cohesive visual experience for attendees at every touchpoint, including room keys, wayfinding, and presentation materials. Overall, the goal was to showcase the forward-thinking nature of the Bluebeam brand and reaffirm the company's commitment to its customers.
